Weather to Become Unstable in March
After a fantastic first 3 weeks of February, we have enjoyed some beautiful weather. That is going to change, however.
We have a storm coming in for late Saturday and Sunday. This is not some giant storm, but it will bring some snow to the Carson Range, in the neighborhood of 2-6 inches.
Then on Wednesday (3/5) we have another small system coming in with a reenforcing cold front:
After this system, high pressure and warm, spring like air will move in for the next 5 days. Then around the 11th of March we could be looking at a major pattern change:
Our most reliable model is predicting another one of those atmospheric river type systems.
Here is the precip forecast for the next 2 weeks. Most of this comes in during the 2nd week:
When it is dry, we go storm hunting. The 11th is still quite a ways off, but something to possibly look forward to.
Finally, we wanted to say goodbye to a true Northern Nevada landmark. Lone Eagle Grille, albeit very expensive, is a Northern Nevada museum on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, in Incline Village. Yesterday, it's doors were shut permanently, much to the chagrin of most Incline residents. A San Francisco Billionaire bought the Hyatt property and decided he wanted a Sushi restaurant and it was time to bulldoze this Nevada landmark. Very sad. Not a single word was written about this in the Reno Gazette Journal. I guess if you have $300+ billion, that buys you good press. Now, in place of Lone Eagle, we will have a place for other San Francisco elites to dine. Again, very sad.
